Windows 10 on ARM Insider Preview Download

In this latest build of Windows 10 on ARM, Microsoft has made several changes that are sure to please users. One notable change is the addition of a search box on the taskbar by default when it's at the top of your screen or in small taskbar button mode.

But don't worry, bug fixes are always on the agenda! This build resolves a wide range of issues, including one where hyperlinks stopped working in Microsoft Excel, another that caused Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) provisioning packages to fail, and another where virtual machines (VMs) would stop responding when adding a new disk to a storage pool in thin provisioning scenarios.

Future Updates

Microsoft has announced that from now on, Windows 10 will only be released once a year. This means that the next feature update, due in the fall of 2022, will be version 22H2. As such, the most recent version of Windows 10 is officially referred to as Windows 10 version 21H2 or the November 2021 Update.

Insider Channels

Microsoft numbers Windows 10 releases using a YYH1/YYH2 format, with the YY standing for the last two numbers of the year and H1 or H2 referring to the first or second half of the year. If you were in the Dev or Beta Channel but your PC doesn't meet Windows 11 requirements, you have been moved to the Release Preview Channel for Windows 10 builds.

The Release Preview Channel is typically the last channel to receive new builds and is meant for final testing of an upcoming release. It's best for those who want the most stable builds.

Insiders in the Dev and Beta Channels are now testing Windows 11 builds. The Beta Channel allows you to test more polished features that will be deployed in the next major Windows release, while the Dev Channel introduces new features for initial testing, regardless of which Windows release they'll eventually end up in.

Windows Insider Program

As a member of the Windows Insider Program, you can choose to receive preview builds in one of three channels. In addition to steady releases of major and minor updates to the current version of Windows 10, Microsoft frequently rolls out public preview builds to members of the program, allowing them to test out - and even help shape - upcoming features.
